Hi all,

when using german "Umlaute" in the article name, the URL is not showing properly.

Example: www.mysite.de/content-page/11-hauptgeric...s-und-kohlrabigemuse
should be
www.mysite.de/content-page/11-hauptgeric...s-und-kohlrabigemüse

Also, would it be possible to remove the "content-page" and the numbers from the URL?

Found nothing here in the forum, hopefully you can help me out.

Many thanks
Torsten

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

Hi micker,

thanks for the update. I´ve set the global config to:

But that does not resolve the issue with the "Umlaute". Do you have another tip for me?

Many thanks
Torsten

Maybe I did not explain this very well. Made a screenshot, hopefully it´s a bit clearer now:

Hello

'content-page'
is just the default menu item

if you have not created more appropriate menu items, then the default menu item is selected

- so to 'remove' it create more appropriate menu items
e.g. create menu items pointing to the category of your item or to create less menu items you can create menu items pointing to some parent category

About the character
- the character you want is not allowed so it is replaced by the closest match !

same like if you type,
"καλημερα" it will replaced with "kalimera"

- if these characters are important then in Joomla global configuration
please enable "unicode aliases"

Hi there,

many thanks for the update. Will give your tip with the menu structure a try tomorrow morning.

Regarding the characters, I´ve enabled the unicode aliases now and cleared the Joomla and browser cache.
Also deleted the old alias in FlexiContent and replaced it with the correct one:

But the URL is still the incorrect one:
http://......../rezepte/item/31-tofufischstabchen-mit-reis-und-kohlrabigemuse

Anything else I can do here to get it working? What would help is replacing the "Umlaut", e.g. "ä" with "ae", "ü" with "ue" and "ö" with "oe".

Best regards
Torsten

Edit regarding the URL and "Umlaute" : it must have something to do with Flexicontent. If I create a Joomla menu item with an "Umlaut", the URL shows correctly.

Thanks again for your help, guys.

I fixed it now using "RSSEO" and rewriting the URL´s that contain an "Umlaut".

Best regards
Torsten
