Author link tutorial bug

Hi,

Thanks for the help on this, : my configurations are exactly the same but I am still having the same error!

How can it be that a configuration works for a site and does not work for another site? I cannot see what I did wrong since everything seems the same in the field configuration?

Comparing algardata and tutorial query i see a mistake in the FAQ article (i updated FAQ article and corrected it):

the user_id should become id

Wrong:
SELECT id AS value, name AS text FROM #__users WHERE user_id="{item->created_by}"

Correct:
SELECT id AS value, name AS text FROM #__users WHERE id="{item->created_by}"

You are right, that was the mistake, it works perfectly now, I can see the drop-down option to select the author.

As per this new field, there is a new text that appears on the item page as 'More content from this author'. However, when I click on this link, the page just refresh but I remain on the same page and I am not redirected to the author page!

I locate the main issue with this field, it does not work when default Joomla sef is enable in configuration.

When sef is enable, it remains on the same page, that is, as an example:

Current page is: www.mysite.com/item.html and when I click on the 'More content from this author' link, it just give me the new link www.mysite.com/item.html?layout= ... thorid=663

But it remains on the same page!

I usually cahnge the ...index.php/... to the actual sef link. But that is me I prefer the fast approach. Is not the best one but does the job.
