How about providing a parameter setting to select the user for orphaned items?
Perhaps this default user parameter could be set on installation to default to the user doing the FLEXIcontent installation.
I assume this user would be a Super Admin.
Then they could change this default user after installation if desired.
This is another one of the ways FLEXIcontent can help users work around Joomla annoyances.

This good idea, thanks ken, you see even the super admin Account in J2.5 can be changed (username) or even deleted , so a parameter and if not set then the first Super Admin Account found ?...
-- Flexicontent is Free but involves a big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite having a long list of functions) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

I think that by first selecting the user who is installing FLEXIcontent as the default guess for that parameter setting you are more likely to get the "right" Super Admin. user the first time.
Whereas selecting the first Super Admin. user found in the database is just a wild guess.
With the ability to change the default Super Admin. user ID number now, and with many sites being migrated (with old user ID numbers), it seems that the guess of the first Super Admin. user found would be wrong as often as it is right.
