1. how much it costs ? but you can see by following the link ...
if you click download you will be asked to buy a subscription of 49 euros (with 1 month support),
(or 69 with more extensions and 6 month support)
i don't say to buy it (it is 3rd party to us),
i cannot be sure if it fits your needs,
it is your choice, just it is
- more user friendly
- can also do export
- can import some special fields like image field
- ...

2. about FLEXIcontent free (built-in) import view, it has grown more than we originally intended, it is useful but :
a. you cannot import image field (yet), e.g. specify a folder from which to get the images
b. has the bug with zero value
c. cannot import large files, (we need to use AJAX to do large files in shorter steps),
d. can not export
e. ...

fleximport work gret i use it with 12000 items .. and more no problem it realy powerfull but you have a great support
