Actually, there is another problem, it seems that a date field that have a value based on the "published date", don´t order neither

So we have two differents problems then

Hello

you have FLEXIcontent r1837 or r1857 ?

1st one is implemented in r1857, and 2nd one is fixed also in r1857

Ok, I have made some tests

I have not been able to made this work. Enable custom field ordering on global configuration - content lists, does nothing. I tested with a description field. Enable yes, changing direction does nothing

About published date, it doesn´t work either :(

I have rechecked the configuration with no luck

Hello

1. this is a new feature
(heritage for custom field ordering),

2. which was very tricky because we do not want to break compatibility with older versions and force people to reconfigure ordering in ALL their categories

a. You need to set "use custom field ordering" to "YES" and click to save component configuration once

b. then in your categories make sure that you have set "use custom field ordering" to "Use global" and do not select ANY custom field

i had tested it , will try to find time to test it more
