Create and link custom field 'Author' to CB user profile

about the 404 error when swithing language
the language switching module uses Flexicontent 'associations' link helper to get the associated URLs
-- and our helper code needs to handle this case too, meaning we never add case of switching "Authored Items" view so you get a URL with just the menu item without the "user id" part so you get 404 SEF

although I would have liked the link to point directly to the CB profile.

this must be in the CORE package
- so we are making 1 new field out of this forum topic  'User Profile link' that has option to link to

1. Joomla profile link
2. CB profile link
3. JomSocial profile link

with configuration to add
- custom text
- user name / image , etc
- items count or other info

about linking of course you can link to CB profile instead
please do not do anything yet
i will configure it in your website and then also add this case to the new Flexicontent field that will be in 3.3.0 version
i will tell you when it is good for you to review it

basically i will
- changed the type of your existing 'Author profile' field from type 'select' to type 'text'
- create a new custom layout for it value_cb_author_profile_link.php

Finally there was no need to create a custom authored items layout
- we already have a field "Authored items" i forgot of it

Is it possible to resolve this 404 error and how?

i have a similar issue with languages associations regarding every tags (mod_flexitagscloud) : showing 404 error page.
How to make it recognize linked language menu items, and replace it accordingly?
Every menu item ids are language specific, but FlexiContent still gives a 404 error if no menu item id is provided.
So, how to identify the language, and automatically change the saved menu item id to the correct one depending on language?

Currently I can't get it to work!  Please, could you configure it in my website ?
