Wow, that's crazy — why would they choose to include all languages? Is was thinking, what is MooTools being used for in the frontend? Maybe it would make sense not loading it?

Compressing Mootools and removing all other languages than those needed just saved me 150 KB per page load. Thanks for the tip.

Problem is that currently, parsing of FLEXIcontent templates cannot be cached on FC v2.0, and you have a few extra templates too

Until we find a way to cache parsing of templates in FC v2.0 we cannot improve this times

Could you explain that in a not-so-technical way ;) ? Does it mean that the CSS files from the templates aren't cached?

no,
it is the reading of the xml files used by the templates, that is not cached.
So the xml files are read again on every page load.

Not related at all with browsing caching of css and other files.

Okay — and I guess that needs a lot of change in FlexiContent's code to work? Did it work in the previous versions of FlexiContent, or was templates and content handled in a different way?

Are the XML files stored in a temp folder somewhere?
