humm almost of my menu parent item are separator. they cannot be associated.

and anyway, if you check 1st item level in main menu : your GI kit :
1. item is associated in all languages
2. category has web_template layout
3. menu item has web_template layout

>> there is no reason to use another template than "web_template". everything is as recommanded.

but, go to :
www.origin-gi.com/your-gi-kit.html (UK version)
switch to FR :
www.origin-gi.com/fr/90-fr/votre-kit-ig.html
>> this is not the right URL, it should be :
www.origin-gi.com/fr/votre-kit-ig.html

So we still have an issue here :(

Hello

identified what is happening
- the reason for this behaviour is because the category id is added to the URL, (it will work as expected if no category id is added)

- the category id is added if it does not match the menu item,
but it seems we have not considered the case of associated menu items correctly, we are looking into the wrong menu item

i will get time to make the actual fix on Wednesday evening or Thursday

Regards

This was meant for v3.1

already in GitHub we have v3.0 RC
that uses Joomla language associations

- is cleaner and more user friendly since it display the same way as the joomla associations:
with select / edit / clear buttons

- i took opportunity to make easier for the user this:
untranslatable fields are editable in any associated item !

- no rerouting (rerouting is not URL redirection) needed , the joomla language module, displays FC item or category SEF links already
via:
component/com_flexicontent/helpers/associations.php

- the popup item or category list for selecting associations
limits to correct language (as Joomla does)

but also limits
- to same type, and if author does not have ACL "Associate Any"
limists to same author
(Joomla does not have this)

- plus we support using associations in frontend item form
(Joomla does not have this)

if I check the version I have in my dev here is the version :
Latest version: 2.2.1
Installed Version: 3.0.0 RC
Release date: 2014-12-17

so, I'm getting confused, is the version on GitHub another 3.0 RC ? language swap problem is it solved ?
