Hello,

I have read all these forum threads but don't understand.

I really want to know how the forcing filer works in terms of user interface.
Could you please explain this? :)

1. Go to any 'category'-like menu item
category, multiple categories, my-items, etc

2. There you can find 2 parameters
- persistent filters, and initial filters
and read the popup description
- it is like if the user has selected a filter value

Persistent filters:
- usually these filters should NOT be displayed via the Global/Category 'filters' parameter
but if you display them, then user will be unable to change them
- usually these filters should be displayed and on 1st visit the filter will have a value SET, but user can change it and reload the page

I think this is exactly what I was looking for...if I understood well enough. :D
For example, I have categories for BMW, AUDI,TOYOTA.
I create a menu with multiple categories and add persistent filter to display only car type(e.g. Family car, 4WD).
Will I be able to do it with persistent filter feature?
Sorry for asking one more time, just want to make sure :D

I have created a menu(categories menu) to have persistent filter.

I have added 54##SUV as persistent filter value.
I've made sure FC select field(id 54) is checked for filter for content lists.

When I click this "persistent filter menu", I get no record..
It would be great if you create documentation for this.

Hello,

I have been trying to use persistent filter for multiple categories but can not make it to work..
URL seems to be wrong coz there is no field id with value that I want to filter.

filter_54=ワゴン・SUV should be included in URL, right?

myaddress/index.php?option=com_flexicontent&view=category&layout=mcats&cids[0]=662&cids[1]=663&cids[2]=664&cids[3]=665&cids[4]=666&cids[5]=667&cids[6]=668&cids[7]=669&cids[8]=670&cids[9]=671&cids[10]=672&cids[11]=673&cids[12]=675&cids[13]=1279&cids[14]=1280&cids[15]=1281&cids[16]=1282&cids[17]=1283&cids[18]=674&Itemid=329

Hello,
permanent filter does not appear in the URL,

(a)
temporarily make the (persistent) filter visible (by selecting it in the 'category' parameter of the menu item), then click on the menu item (the multi-category menu item),
does it appear set ?

(b)
then remove it from visible filters and reclick on the menu item,
do you get the same results as in (a) ?
