[SOLVED] Image field warning inside item form: "some values of this field have been skipped", happening for items imported via CSV

so the path of the items is:
new item:
images/stories/item_6425_field_15/original/alpha-cat_m.gif
old item:
images/stories/item_4466_field_15/original/Assassin.gif

the look to be of same configuration

1. So the new item does it save and show the images ?
2. any old item (that you have NOT re-saved) if you view it in frontend does it show the images too ?

In short the images of existing item, show in frontend,
but if you edit you get message that they do not exist or they were skipped ?
- but it works for new items without warnings ?

The old items show fine, new items if entered by hand are fine. The problem happens because we upload all items with csv file upload method.
This is where we get the error. When we upload the csv file it says the image is there when we do the "prepare import", but when we review in the frontend there is no image and the backend gives the error message (the images are in the images/stories folder and the csv file only includes the name of the image)

Ok so it happens when
1. uploading image via CSV
2 . image field is in "folder" mode

now this is better information,

- it looks like the images are not copied to the correct folder
can you look inside folder of an item created via CSV import:

images/stories/item_NNNN_field_15/original/

are the images there ?

"Ok so it happens when
1. uploading image via CSV
2 . image field is in "folder" mode"

we upload images with ftp to images/stories folder
we have numerous image fields, 1 is "Item and Field Specific folder source" and all the other image fields use "Reusable DB mode"

"can you look inside folder of an item created via CSV import:"
images were not created with the upload, the item and image entered by hand are fine

and I thought the Reusable DB mode was supposed to use the same image and not create new ones ?

so it happens when
1. uploading image via CSV
2 . image field is in "folder" mode"
3. you don't use default TEMPORARY folder for images but instead you use some other folder,
to which you upload and then you set it in the "Folder" parameters of the CSV import form, right ?
e.g. to

image/stories/mytemp_folder/

i will test this locally
