Sorry if I ask for stupid thing,
but does the advanced search work?
I'v got the new Joomla 1.7 installation with FC r922.
I set the "search" and "advanced searh" propeties of fields to "Yes", create a new category, new article, publish it.
Then publish FLEXIadvsearch Module. And try to search my article by title or by same word of description. And search result is empty.
More then it, if I try to search not from FLEXIadvsearch Module, but from search form displayed on page - it redirect me to start page (if SEF os off) or to category list (if SEF is on).

What should I do to make it work?
And what should I do to make standard joomla search find data in FC field and build search results links to com_flexicontent, not com_content?

Standard joomla search is usable now but:
- it only supports title and description
- the results listing only includes title and description

Advanced search is being implemented by enjoyman but is incomplete
Advantages:
- it will support all FLEXIcontent fields that can produce some text e.g. even image field can produce some text, for example its title or description or both combined.
- the result listing can include any FLEXIcontent field
- the result are retrieved from a precalculated index so it is a lot faster than standard search

For a field to become compatible with advanced search mode it must be extended with some programming code ..., as i said above it is not complete yet.

Wait for next version ... Regards

Standard search plugin for FC 2.0 not working.

Here is the solution, not very quick, but a workable and flexible enough. You can use it if you want.

Sorry, there is no French and German language support.

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.

The new advanced search view relies on a PRECALCULATED INDEX to get its results very fast

Well, when you declare a field as advanced searchable -- the advanced search indexer (BACKEND) must be recreated (we click button "Index")
-- after that the indexer is updated automatically every time an item is created / edited or an existing item version is approved

but some things were broken:

In r923, i have fixed advanced search indexer so that it

1. works with core fields (although values not shaped everywhere e.g for tags it stores id)
# works with item versioning enabled and with version approval
# its speed is improved many times by using e.g 50 items per AJAX call

but need to test it now, hopefully it will be working on next beta release

That sounds really nice. A faster search is awesome. Will this be in FlexiContent 2.0 as well?

Also, can't build the search index in FlexiContent 2.0.

It is the same in both FC ,
besides speed the bonuses are
-- to search any flexicontent field that supports advance search (not just title and description)
-- and also being able to output any flexicontent field in the result item list, not just title

Nice :) When you search in FlexiContent content with Joomlas regular search, you get the non-SEF links directly to the articles. Will FlexiContent's search allow to link to the SEF URLs instead?
