Thanks for looking into it. In the mean time, what is the minimum permission level that should be set within Flexiaccess to allow him to have the "manage permissions" option?

Here is the fix:

in files
components/com_flexicontent/models/items.php
administrator/components/com_flexicontent/models/item.php

Replace
Code:
(in_array('right', $rights) || $user->gid >= 24);
with
Code:
(in_array('right', $rights) || $user->gid > 24);

also a different bug:
in file
administrator/components/com_flexicontent/views/flexicontent/tmpl/default.php
Replace
Code:
$user->gid >= 24
with
Code:
$user->gid > 24

Looks like updating to 1.5.6 breaks our site in another way. Some teaser images we had on our frontpage no longer are showing up. These are tied to mod_easyfleximodule
I attached a screenshot of the module parameters.

mmm, you have 2 options,
revert back to v1.5.4,
OR
use the new powerful mod_flexicontent Module

after final version of v1.5.6, i am sure author or someone else will update the easyfleximodule to work,

if you revert back to v1.5.4, then if you had applied any fixes to v1.5.4 then reapply them, also after reverting back to v1.5.4 , uninstall separately the plugins textselect and relateditems

If I'm understanding correctly, this easyfleximodule isn't actually yours?

So you are suggesting to revert to 1.5.4 rather than the 1.5.5 we had installed, correct?

Does the flexicontent module do teaser images like the easyflex module does?

universal flexicontent module can do everything ..
load all content by many scope (category / type / subcategory ...)
any field by label
templating option etc ...
it much complex but much powerfull

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.

Do you have instructions on how to create these teaser images with the "powerful" and "universal" flexicontent module?

--specifically, can you help me translate the module parameters I currently have set with the mod_easyfleximodule to translate to the mod_flexicontent module?

(edit)- it looks like there is a 2 column limit, where can I up that to 3?

Don't be intimidated by the number of options, enable only what you need and make some tests:

-- First SLIDER (layout, order, number of items)
set layout to --news--
set number of items ...
Set featured to same as number of items to make you all items to be featured (you can set different parameters for standard and featured)

-- Second SLIDER (SCOPEs = which items to show)
e.g. Use the category SCOPE to select which categories to use for getting the items

-- Third SLIDER (Display parameters for ITEMs (used by some Layouts)
Here you can select what fields to show. This is similar like what you have in easyfleximodule only a little more options (JUST REMEMBER: you set different parameters for standard and for featured items)

Thanks, I think I got it mostly figured out. This is great. The only issues are trying to change the css style and upping the number of columns. I see "Columns for standard items" (found under fetching method within the Module Parameters) with a limit of 2. I don't see how to change the number of columns for featured items. I need 3 columns either standard or featured; doesn't matter. Is that something I have to change in the code?
