Yes, this is the specific category.

The author does not belong to 2 groups, only one group.

I think so, but I haven't created item form menu for this.
Right now, I(Super user) create item(Author page) in Backend, and then I assign item to the author(created by author, not Super user).

I have selected two categories but not wrking. I even selected all categories but not working either.

Which variable in relation.php do I have to look for to see whether there is any issue.

indeed there was a bug with CORE functions that checks category permissions

it is working now,
will commit fix for v2.0.3

I forgot to test this.. I think there is one more thing to fix...
All categories displayed even if I select one category and set param Method to (All, Exclude, Include).

you are right in the case that the user is not able to use any categories then allow categories are displayed by the relation field:

these error messages will be added:

Category SCOPE: Include METHOD
$field->html =
FLEXI_CANNOT_EDIT_FIELD
FLEXI_NO_ACCESS_TO_USE_CONFIGURED_CATEGORIES


Category SCOPE: ALL
$field->html =
FLEXI_CANNOT_EDIT_FIELD
FLEXI_NO_ACCESS_TO_USE_ANY_CATEGORIES
